You kind of can't go wrong when the soundtrack you've put together for one of the most eagerly anticipated literary adaptations in years kicks off Yeah Yeah Yeahs singer Karen O's take on Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song."

Fans heard the throbbing industrial take on the rock classic cooked up by former Nine Inch Nails mastermind and O when a trailer for the David Fincher-directed "Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" leaked back in May. And on Thursday, Oscar-winning industrial-rocker-turned-film composer Reznor and musical partner Atticus Ross unveiled the full track list for their "Tattoo" score album.

The follow-up to their award-winning "The Social Network" score was a labor of love, according to a post Reznor put up on the NIN site on Thursday announcing the disc. "For the last fourteen months Atticus and I have been hard at work on David Fincher's 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo,' " he wrote about the American version of the tale of pierced and punished hacker Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara) and her muckraking journalist compatriot Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig). "We laughed, we cried, we lost our minds and in the process made some of the most beautiful and disturbing music of our careers. The result is a sprawling three-hour opus."

The album will be released on iTunes on December 9 in two versions. Right now, you can download the Karen O song on iTunes when you pre-order the 39-track album. That download purchase will also give you a link to the eight-minute "Dragon Tattoo" trailer, for which Reznor and Ross created a unique score.

But, if you visit the NIN online store, Reznor is offering the soundtrack in a variety of forms, from a free six-track sampler to a deluxe 3,000-piece limited-edition signed $300 package with your choice of MP3 formats; the full album on six pieces of 180 gram vinyl; a deluxe book package with a metal cover; an exclusive custom 8 GB metal razor blade USB drive pendant containing the full album; and a fold-out poster.

The full album score track list is as follows:
» "Immigrant Song" (Led Zeppelin cover) [ft. Karen O]
» "She Reminds Me of You"
» "People Lie All the Time"
» "Pinned and Mounted"
» "Perihelion"
» "What If We Could?"
» "With the Flies"
» "Hidden in Snow"
» "A Thousand Details"
» "One Particular Moment"
» "I Can't Take It Anymore"
» "How Brittle the Bones"
» "Please Take Your Hand Away"
» "Cut Into Pieces"
» "The Splinter"
» "An Itch"
» "Hypomania"
» "Under the Midnight Sun"
» "Aphelion"
» "You're Here"
» "The Same as the Others"
» "A Pause for Reflection"
» "While Waiting"
» "The Seconds Drag"
» "Later Into the Night"
» "Parallel Timeline With Alternate Outcome"
» "Another Way of Caring"
» "A Viable Construct"

Howard Stern: The New America’s Got Talent Judge

America’s Got Talent fans get ready because shock jock Howard Stern is joining the show. Stern has signed on to be a judge. Holy moly good times are head for this show. It is official the man who will say anything, Howard Stern, will be taking a seat at the judges panel on the upcoming season of America’s Got Talent. He will be taking the seat vacated by Piers Morgan, who left to do his own CNN show. Fans of Stern’s radio show don’t worry his show is not going anywhere. The AGT production will be moved to New York once the live shows begin airing to accommodate Howard’s Sirus XM Radio show, which just so happens to be where he made the announcement today about his new gig. In all honesty I was really freaking surprised by this choice and I am pretty sure I am not the only one. This statement made by NBC programming exec Paul Telegdy didn’t really make me any less surprised by the decision to hire Stern either. Howard Stern’s larger-than-life personality will bring a thrilling new dynamic to America’s Got Talent, starting this summer. He’s a proven innovator and his track record in [...]

2011 just keeps getting better for Avicii. The 22-year-old (born Tim Bergling) has had a marquee year, to say the least, and to add to his list of accolades, he's landed at #6 on MTV's Best EDM Artists of 2011 list.

Earlier this week, Avicii took some time out of his insane tour schedule to talk to MTV News and thank his loyal following.

"It was obviously a big honor for me," Bergling told MTV News. "I feel very humbled by the support that my fans have shown me this year."

Avicii's massive success has made him one of the most sought-after live acts on the planet, hitting quite literally every corner of the globe, wooing masses of fans along the way. And with his upcoming sold-out New Year's Eve show in New York City, he's capping the year with a bang. Playing a 135,000-square-foot room on the Hudson River flanked by rising stars Arty and Swanky Tunes, Avicii will have a fitting finale to the year when he became a household name.

"2011 was the best year of my life, with so many new experiences," he said. "Just looking back at it, I feel so fortunate to have been able to visit all of these places and meet all of these different people."

"Levels" was one of the most recognizable tunes of the year across all genres, and "Sunshine," his Grammy-nominated co-production with EDM vet David Guetta, is a club smash. Add a massive collection of unreleased, "show only" tracks and bootlegs to an already-impressive catalog and it's easy to see the impact he's had on the scene. The future is indeed bright for the young Swede, and he's already getting his ducks in line for a busy year ahead.

"2012 is looking packed already with gigs and production time," he said. "I'm looking forward to being able to keep doing what I've been doing this past year."

All this week, watch "AMTV" on MTV every day at 8 a.m. ET for our Best of 2011 lists. Then, come to MTVNews.com at 5 p.m. as we reveal our top picks of the year!
