It's Clear, Blue Ivy Will Be Sleeping In Style

Beyoncé and husband Jay-Z welcomed daughter Blue Ivy Carter this past weekend, and it looks like the newborn went home to some pretty fancy sleeping quarters. A source tells Us Weekly that Beyoncé purchased a $3500 Lucite crib at an NYC boutique back in November.

The source adds that the Grammy-winner was accompanied by her sister Solange Knowles and mom Tina when she made the purchase. Previously it was reported that Beyoncé and Jay-Z were building a 2,200 square foot nursery in their Tribeca apartment.

Adele Notches Best Sales Year Since Usher's Confessions1676522

In 2011, 21 moved more than 5.6 million copies in the U.S.

The music industry has been stuck in a rut for nearly a decade. But every once in a while, it still manages to produce one of those unstoppable hit albums that give everyone that good old feeling.

This year's model is Adele's 21, which not only sold more copies than any other album in the U.S. in 2011 (more than 5.6 million to date), but which has also moved the most units of any artist since 2004. According to a Reuters report, those gaudy figures (which top 15 million worldwide) make the British songbird the first artist to cross the 5 million mark in one year since Usher did it with his fourth studio album, Confessions, which sold 7.9 million units more than seven years ago. And to think she did it by releasing just two mega singles, "Rolling in the Deep" and "Someone Like You," and barely touring North America due to recurring vocal issues.
There have been other big hits along the way to Adele's mark, including Eminem selling more than 3.4 million copies of his comeback Recovery album last year and Taylor Swift taking the honors in 2009 with Fearless, which sold 3.2 million copies. But none have come as close to Usher's mark in the interim. There doesn't seem to be any chance Adele will be surpassed by the end of the year: The closest contenders are Lady Gaga's Born This Way (2.08 million) and Michael Bublé's Christmas (2.4 million). The other good news is that overall music sales are expected to be up slightly (3 percent) by the end of this year, marking the first time that's happened since 2004.

On Sunday night, some of the biggest names in the music industry hit up the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas and decided that sparkles and sequins make for the perfect additions to any red carpet get-up. Well, it is Sin City after all. Taylor Swift always seems to bring some of that Nashville sparkle to any red carpet. She arrived at the show in a pale-hued, sequined Elie Saab gown. Nicki Minaj showed off her signature sense of style in her baby-blue, body-hugging spandex Mark Fast catsuit. Selena Gomez turned up the style dial in a sexy, cut-out black Dolce & Gabbana gown that she paired with red strappy sandals with sparkly bow detailing. Like Gomez, Ke$ha opted for some cut-out detailing in her sparkly, slate-gray dress with tulle skirt. Rihanna looked white hot in her men's tailored Max Azria suit, which she kept sexy and feminine by not buttoning her shirt all the way. Fergie went S&M chic in her little black bandage-type dress by Hervé Léger. Nicole Kidman also wore black. She paired a casual braid hairstyle with a long black gown and Keith Urban. British pop cutie Kyle Minogue looked funky in her little black lacey dress. Inside the show, Britney Spears sat in the audience wearing a skimpy black dress of her own, her hair in loose curls, with little-to-no accessories. While some stars kept the color scheme low-key, Keri Hilson decided to stand out in her billowy little yellow dress paired with a turquoise-colored belt. Kelly Rowland showed off some of her best assets in a body-hugging, bright pink bandage dress. The fellas also looked tight on the carpet. Joe Jonas wore all black with white sneakers, Ne-Yo paired his periwinkle suit with a Yankees cap and Justin Bieber wore black tuxedo pants with a gold-lamé tuxedo jacket. Which stars' styles caught your eye at the Billboard Music Awards? Tell us in the comments.

Chris Brown Is The Male Beyonce, Fat Joe Says1676960

'You know, he's a sex symbol,' Joe Crack tells MTV News.

When it comes to Fat Joe's "Another Round" collaborator, Chris Brown, the Bronx MC holds the singer to a high standard. Breezy doesn't just bring his soulful vocals and soothing melodies to Joe's track, his appearance in the Colin Tilley-directed video also provides some eye candy for the ladies. "You know, that guy, he's like the 'guy Beyoncé,' " Joe joked to MTV News last week. In the clip, CB and a slimmed-down Joe Crack serenade a number of bikini-clad beauties on a golden beach. "Don't you be holding back your love," Breezy sings on the hook before assuring his lady that after making love with him she's sure to want "another round."

Brown really gets into it on the song's bridge and final hook. The blond (again) lothario splashes around in the ocean, tearing off his shirt as he puts more emotion into his vocals. Joe likened Brown's performance in "Another Round" to Queen B's performance in her 2006 video for "Déjà Vu," where she runs through a cornfield while singing for her special someone. Like most Beyoncé videos, the visuals were particularly exciting to her male fanbase. Joe said Breezy's "Another Round" appearance has been evoking a similar reaction with the rapper's female following. "This guy takes his shirt off — I played it for a couple of chicks before we released it and they just start goin' crazy and buggin' out like, 'Oh my God, yo,' " Joe laughed. "You know, he's a sex symbol."

Mark Wahlberg surprised movie fans everywhere when he announced plans to hook up with Justin Bieber on the big screen. But when MTV News caught up with the "Contraband" star recently, he explained why he wanted to work with the teen phenom on the basketball-themed drama.

"Intuition. I'm pretty intuitive," he said of why he thinks shooting a film with the pop star is the right choice. "I see the guy and spent time with him, and you see what he does and how he does it, and then you actually have a conversation with him, and it's there." Of course, if it doesn't come easily to the rookie actor, Wahlberg has a backup plan: "It's there — and if not, I will extract it." When MTV News caught up with Wahlberg and Bieber earlier this year at the MTV Movie Awards, they opened up a bit more about the in-the-works flick. "Wait till you see me and Bieber in the flick. Think of, like, 'The Color of Money,' " Wahlberg said of his "old guy" role. "So I get this call from Paramount [with a story about] an old guy and a young guy. I'm like, 'Cool, let's get Jack [Nicholson]. Let's get Robert De Niro. Let's get Robert Duvall.' And they go, 'What about Garrett Hedlund?' I'm like, 'For what?' " he further recalled. "They're like, 'For the young guy.' "

Bieber, who previously appeared on the big screen in his 3-D concert flick "Never Say Never," said he hopes to be on a film set by sometime next summer. And while he kept his plans hush-hush, he added that his team is "working on the script." For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com.

Beyonce And Jay-Z: Experts Break Down Baby Rumors1676944

How did B and Jay go unnoticed at the hospital? Why are there so many incorrect reports? Celeb experts explain.

In the days leading up to little Blue Ivy's birth, Beyoncé and Jay-Z watchers were wondering when and where the couple would welcome their first child into the world. With sightings of a still-pregnant Queen B out and about in New York City, it seemed that it could happen at any given moment.

The rumor mill was in overdrive just as Blue Ivy was born over the weekend — not that it hadn't been spinning wildly since Beyoncé and Jay-Z announced the pregnancy at the VMAs in August. "There were so many rumors leading up, in general, surrounding her pregnancy from the moment that there was a rumor that she was pregnant. Then, once she was pregnant, we saw over the last week multiple reports, and obviously the early ones are erroneous, that she had given birth," said David Caplan, who has worked at celeb magazines like Star and People. "So there was a lot of buildup to her finally giving birth. There was also a degree of suspicion, because there were so many erroneous reports out there. You had to wait a little bit to see what the conversation would be." Jay and B have yet to talk about their daughter's birth, leaving the confirmations to their friends and family on Twitter. That level of privacy has been key to not only this past weekend's birth, but Beyonceé and Jay-Z's relationship in general. "All those rumors that swirled around, that's because she won't play that game," HuffPost celebrity columnist Rob Shuter said. "I think that's because she kept it so private, because she has not spoken about this. She won't address the rumors, and I think that when you're that private and the public is that passionate, that's when rumors often start." The couple reportedly paid more than $1 million to have privacy at NYC's Lenox Hill Hospital. According to some reports, the couple requested so much privacy that some parents were prevented from seeing their own newborns. But the experts said that level of isolation is nothing new for celebrities. "It's very common for celebrities to sneak in and out of hospitals," Caplan said. "It's actually very easy for celebrities to sneak in and out. There's multiple doors in and out. They use decoys. There'll be someone who looks like a celebrity. You go at different times of the night. Hospitals are also, at the same time, hotbeds of activity, so it's not like you're going somewhere really quiet." "This was a very carefully arranged, organized hospital visit. Nothing was left to chance," Shuter added. "I suspect the conversations between her security team and officials with the hospital [went on] for several weeks. Working with big celebrities myself, these moments are very, very carefully choreographed. Not only because they want to protect their privacy, they also don't want to have a dangerous scene on their hands. Hospitals in New York and L.A. especially, where a lot of celebrities live, has people on staff that are there to make sure these things work very carefully and in a very private matter."
